The Town of Edenton Fire Department is a combination department that has both paid and volunteer firefighters, with 10 serving as paid employees. The department covers both municipal and county areas, providing fire protection rated by the North Carolina Fire Marshal’s office as a 5/9E ISO rating. Annual call volume averages over 400 calls per year.
The mission of the department is “To protect the citizens and visitors of Edenton from fire and hazardous conditions through education, prevention, and fire suppression with Honor, Dedication, and Pride.”
