Airport

Northeastern Regional Airport (IATA: EDE, ICAO: KEDE, FAA LID: EDE) is a public use airport in Chowan County. It is owned by the Town of Edenton and located three nautical miles (6 km) southeast of downtown. The airport is categorized as a general aviation facility. The Airport Manager, oversees the day-to-day operations while also working with an Airport Commission board. The airport is staffed by part-time employees. 

The airport was first built by the U.S. Navy during World War II as Marine Corps Air Station Edenton, before becoming Naval Auxiliary Air Station Edenton, before becoming a civilian airport. Many of the old military buildings on the property now serve civilian or commercial purposes.

New Hangar Project

The Town of Edenton and Northeastern Regional Airport are currently embarking upon a project to construct new taxi lanes and a new tee-hangar. This tee-hangar may range from eight to twelve spaces, depending on final design. We hope this project will be complete by mid-2025.
