Town staff and Lisa Dees celebrate a memorial bench for Scott Dees

DOWNTOWN EDENTON -- Yesterday, we were humbled and honored to dedicate the newest downtown memorial bench to Scott Alan Dees, a Town of Edenton employee for 22 years. We tragically lost Scott in 2022.

A great man and devoted Public Works employee, Scott is truly missed to this day. Town employees were so fortunate to have been able to share this unveiling with Lisa, his dear wife, who wore one of his favorite jackets.

Attending this ceremony was Mayor W. Hackney High Jr., Town Manager Corey Gooden, Assistant to the Town Manager Tammy Woodley, Public Works Director David Myers, Streets Supervisor Eric Fooks, Public Information Officer Tyler Newman, and Destination Downtown Edenton Executive Director Ches Chesson.

We would like to extend our thanks to Mayor High, our entire Public Works team, Town Hall staff, DDE, and of course, Ms. Lisa Dees, for making this an incredibly special moment for us all. We will continue to honor the memory of Scott and all of our former employees as we strive to work towards a better Edenton every day.

Scott, this one is for you!
