The Public Information Officer (PIO) is a newly-created position within the Town of Edenton and serves many purposes. The PIO ensures communication with the public is timely, accurate, and forthright while also managing press releases and media relations. In addition, the PIO manages the town's social media presence, community outreach and public relations, newsletter and publication release, website development and management, multimedia projects, advertising, event coordination, administrative assistance and council meeting summaries.
Currently, Tyler Newman is the Public Information Officer, having served since April 2023.
