Historic Hicks Field

Historic Hicks Field, home of the John A. Holmes Aces and the Edenton Steamers, is one of Edenton's most iconic landmarks. Relatively contemporary in comparison to other historical sites in town, the field was constructed in 1939 as as Works Progress Administration (WPA) project. Today it sits at the corner of East Freemason and Woodard streets adjacent to John A. Holmes High School and is the hub of Edenton's athletic fervor and baseball legacy.

Hicks Field is Chowan County-owned and maintained, so for any questions about maintenance and repair or concerns, call the Chowan County Recreation Department at (252) 482-8595. For ticketing information, call the Edenton Steamers front office at (252) 482-4080 or drop by during a high school game.
