Police Chief Henry King Jr sworn in as President of the NCACP

EDENTON -- We are very excited to announce that Edenton Police Chief Henry King Jr was sworn into the Office of President of the North Carolina Association of Chiefs of Police on January 17, 2024, becoming the first Edenton Police Chief to obtain this title.

Chief King plans to continue to advance and magnify the highest ethical and professional standards in law enforcement at all levels throughout North Carolina.

Since becoming a member of the North Carolina Association of Chiefs of Police (NCACP) in 2018, Chief King has served as a Regional Director, Sergeant at Arms, Secretary, and Vice President. He also served as Chairman of the Training Committee and served on the North Carolina Sentencing and Policy Advisory Commission. Chief King also served as a North Carolina Locksmith Licensing Commission board member.

"I am honored to serve as the NCACP President for 2024-2025 and look forward to representing this noble profession and association around the State of North Carolina," said Chief King. "Over the past several years, the State of North Carolina has experienced several challenges, and this organization is committed to bridging the gap with our community partners, citizens, and legislatures to ensure our communities as well as our officers remain safe as well."
