EDENTON -- In honor of Arbor Day, we are excited to have planted two Tulip Poplar trees on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, between Gramby Street and Vance Lane! Our Tree Committee partnered with Public Works and Town Hall staff in this endeavor, which we hope will enhance an entryway into Edenton and begin growing a more beautiful treescape along the street.
"We are always happy to acknowledge Arbor Day via our tree planting ceremonies," said Tyler Newman, Public Information Officer. "This year's ceremony was no different, and we were proud of Tosh Towe and our landscape team for coming out to assist us with the planting."
Edenton has also been honored as a Tree City USA for its 45th consecutive year. We have been consistent in our planting, upkeep and education surrounding trees and their integration within our community for over four decades and this is something we are incredibly proud of.
