EDENTON -- The Town of Edenton is excited to share that we are hosting a blood drive on Friday, May 31! This community drive will help fuel the blood stores of our local hospitals, as the group we are partnering with, The Blood Connection, ensured us that all donated blood stays local.
The drive will run from 12 PM to 5 PM and will be located at the Council Chambers' overflow room, at 504 S. Broad Street. Reservations can be made at www.bit.ly/edentondrive after you set up an account. The sponsor code is 93CE.
Anyone donating will receive $50 in rewards from The Blood Connection! Also -- according to the organization, you can’t donate blood if you have a fever, a productive cough, if you do not feel well, or if you are taking antibiotics to treat a sinus, throat, or lung infection.
"This is a great way to give back to our community and allow residents to support those in need with blood," said Tyler Newman, Public Information Officer. "You never know when you may need a vital blood transfusion to save your own life, so we encourage anyone who is able to consider making an appointment for May 31."
